Durga Puja is a major festival celebrated predominantly in West Bengal, India, and other parts of the country. It marks the victory of the goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. The festival usually spans ten days, with the last four days being the most significant. Elaborate idols of Goddess Durga and her four children (Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kartikeya, and Ganesha) are installed in beautifully decorated pandals (temporary structures). Devotees visit these pandals to offer prayers, enjoy cultural performances, and witness the immersion procession on the final day.
